Find the Sheet Metal Career That Fits You

Residential sheet metal workers install and maintain HVAC systems in homes and small residential buildings. This path focuses on designing and installing ductwork systems that keep families comfortable year-round.

Residential work in a home for sheet metal work

You’ll work closely with builders, contractors, and homeowners to ensure heating and cooling systems operate efficiently and effectively.

Typical work includes:

  • Installing ductwork in new homes
  • Retrofitting HVAC systems in existing houses
  • Fabricating residential duct systems
  • Ensuring proper airflow and ventilation
  • Troubleshooting heating and cooling issues

This path is ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, working in different environments, and seeing the immediate impact of their work in people’s homes.
