The Program
Your journey as a sheet metal worker starts here — at the Local 1 Training Center.
Our four-year apprenticeship program is designed to put you where real learning happens: on the job. As a Local 1 apprentice, you won’t be stuck behind a desk. You’ll earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in the field while mastering the skills that power our industry.
From welding and architectural sheet metal to residential ductwork and commercial HVAC, you'll train across every major area of the trade — building real expertise, real confidence, and a real career.

The Local 1 Apprenticeship Program is a four-year, earn-while-you-learn training experience designed to build highly skilled sheet metal workers.
From day one, you’ll train at the Local 1 Training Center while gaining real-world experience on active job sites throughout our community. This is not a desk job. This is hands-on, career-building education that prepares you for long-term success in an in-demand trade.
